Radford invites visitors to hike, mountain bike, or kayak on either the Greenway or Blueway trails of the New River National Scenic Byway. Access is free and requires no permit. The Blue Ridge Parkway provides excellent access points to these trails and is nearby. The New River Greenway and Blueway are connected by the New River Trail State Park.
