The mouse, a local hero in most parts of India as it is the animal with which Ganesh is often identified, often acts as his vehicle. She received the AMA Excellence in Education Award (2015). She has been inducted into the AAAN’s Medical Student Mentoring Program (MSMP) as a mentor for medical students, and received the AAN’s Distinguished Junior Faculty Award (2008) and the AAN President’s Award (2011).
