as a final note, the language packs are in the form of a.msi file. once installed, you can switch between the languages just by selecting one and clicking ok. you can then remove the language packs by selecting remove from the uninstall menu in the installation process.
if you want to install the full version of the language pack, you must also download the language pack for that version of office. note that you’ll still need to uninstall the previous version of the language pack before installing the new one.
since office does not support uninstallation of language packs, you must uninstall it in the same order that you installed it. therefore, you will always need to uninstall the english and then install the german language pack.
the options page for a specific application also contains a button to toggle between:
- display languages. this will switch the display language for the application.
- edit languages. this will switch the editing language for the application.
this is useful if you have different display language settings for different documents. you can switch display languages, and the display language in the new document will be automatically changed to the same as the display language for the application.
note that you can also change the language accessory pack for office 2016 vl. at the bottom of the page is a button called “customize.” the image above the button is the customization page you see if you click on that button.
the first drop-down list is display languages. choose the language you want to display the text in. this is the language that will be used when you open a document for editing. it is the same as the display language in the options page.
