Hacked Vmex Decompiler
The only feature I’ve been able to use is the vcam on the server, I haven’t hacked in a long time so it’s all second-hand knowledge. Also, if you check my previous post it will tell you what went wrong and you may need to fix the points, but I dont know how you’d go about doing that either. Sorry.
Hi, i used to have all VMF’s saved on my PC’s backup drive but it crashed a while back and now i cannot find a copy of dedust2.vmf anywhere on the net.I’ve tried to decompile the dust2.bsp but for some reason it wont decompile, the command prompt appears then disappears, i’ve tried vmex but again same happens with that, i also tried the GUI version of vmex and selected the bsp then clicked decompile but nothing happens.Could someone post me a link to download the file PS: the thread with all VMF’s listed on this site no longer works, the link for dust2 is dead.Thanks.
I have installed the vmex software and in windows called “Editor” a license dialog box appears with the following title and message. “Notice: Decompiler requires you to have a license key registered and installed on your system. To purchase the license, contact your software provider.”So how is one going to get the license?.
Since this past weekend I been seeing other people on the forums who are running Vmex’s Decompiler/De-bagger to hack their level; however the.bsp files from the server of most popular hacks are no longer working. So does anybody know if the Valve’s Developers still use Vmex’s Decompiler/De-bagger to decompile, or can they be hacked too?
Definitely not. It would be less hassle to just use rextract or converter and make a new map from it. Using the original map file is strongly recommended as copying the actual.bsp file from a.csc is much easier and doesn’t involve having to download and install more programs. That being said, yes, using a decompiler to edit the map file is pointless as no modifications are done during the compile process. They are moved around during the compile, hence the “editing in-place” disclaimer in the installer.

When it comes to losing your progress, one of the easiest ways to do it is by taking a screenshot or video and uploading it to an internet service like Photobucket, taking it from there. It’s not as simple as plugging in a USB memory stick, or hooking up to a PC, though, as the file you have created is in (almost) unreadable format. The only way of turning that backup into something that can be opened by the player is by using a computer program. Lots of them are out there, but I choose to use Vmex, a program that requires only the ability to transfer files to a computer. This is how you could restore your old save file: Download Vmex. Run Vmex and select the file. Unzip the file you have previously saved and save it to your computer. This will create a new file, so if you haven’t put a file on your computer before, delete this new file. Now move the file you have just saved to a removable flash drive and plug it into the computer. These are the next steps: Connect the flash drive to the computer. Wait a few moments. Vmex should open automatically and ask whether you want to open the file in Vmex. Click to do so. Now your file should be in Vmex and you can use it to continue your game. It works with pretty much any file format, but I have used it exclusively for.sux files. Getting rid of these requires a little more tech-knowledge than this guide will give you. I’ve personally never had to use it, but it should work without a hitch if you know what you’re doing. If you’re a little more experienced, here’s the link to the tutorial website I just linked to.
