As a professional visual effects artist, I use Photoshop for manifold things, particularly compositing. It’s pretty cool. We use non-destructive masks to layer and selectively clone layers of others; transparency channels are basically a 50/50 blend of source and destination areas. Photoshop’s features are far more powerful than anything offered on the iPad when it comes to compositing. Perhaps Adobe explains better on Photoshop.com, but one thing I never understood was why my favorite tool was such a pain in the neck to close and lose track of.
For most photographers, the loss of the watermark is not an issue at all. If you’re willing to put up with it, watermarking is useful for ensuring that photos are copyright free. If you’re a purist and want perfect results from your watermark, there’s a pretty tool to get it done for you, with a few caveats. The Automatic Print Watermark app, by Say Creative, describes itself as “an easy-to-use, secure digital watermarking app for iPhone, iPod touch & iPad.”
Historically, Photoshop has been known for its huge library of tools for artwork manipulation including lasso tool, layers, filters, path finders, paths, text, type and a host of other vector and object drawing and editing tools. 6. Cloning: Using this tool you can completely take an image right out with you. You can choose a crop mark that is loaded with a layer from the selected image and then click the clone tool. You each copy of the image and you add it to a new layer. You can do anything you want with these layers, change their sizes and position, use them as backgrounds or layer masks.
7. Liquify and Move: This tool is great for moving objects around an image. It allows you to size-change them, frame them and rotate them based on the positioning of the anchor. Add 3D elements or rotate 3D elements, and even objects. These tools also allow you to scale an object as well as move objects inside an object.
