The constructors in OpenSesame have a template argument, which is where all the job’s instructions should be. Each template may have a default_item argument, where the item on the next screen is placed if there is no appropriate instructions in the template. If you created the keyboard_response item, it should have a default_item argument. This can be left empty, or it can contain an immediate display item. The last column in the table is optional_argument; this is an argument that can be specified, but which does not affect the program’s behavior.
We recommend that you download a Linux distribution for your computer and install a Linux distribution (whether this is Slackware, Kubuntu, Ubuntu, or any other distribution is up to you) . Once it’s installed, open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and you should be able to run the oc python command in terminal to open the OpenSesame application. While we suggest using TRTT (Click to translate), we certainly don't judge you for using other methods! You might find that the instance of TRTT you use is inconsistent, or the translation is downright wrong, and we can't do anything about that. What we can do is add steps to OpenSesame Server for translation. The first step is usually adding a "translation journal" to OpenSesame. We use the term "journal" to encompass anything that exists in the database or elsewhere in which you can store information that can be used to provide assistance or explanation for your translations.
time code is the main focus of OpenSesame Server. Instead of recording a fixed value for time code, we track the relative position of time code in the stimulus. We do this using the OpenControl.net time server. When running tasks that come from other agencies, an error message is given to you if the time code (or timestamp) in the time-code is out of range.
It is very simple to use sketches for implementing your own MIDI instruments. All you need is a controller and the stimulus that you want OpenSesame to play. As an example, we will create a MIDI pianoroll using the "[C]" key as input.
It should be possible to retrain a reinforcement learning model by simply modifying its inputs, but this is not that simple. In this example we'll show you how you can modify the stimulus that the model is given when it is set to train. You can do this by using OpenSesame's simulator panel to change the input record it is learning from. There is a small risk, that you'll get stuck in a bad local minimum.
